Victoria
6.4 km - slow savouring of the city
I don’t want to leave, I want to stay in Victoria longer! This city and surrounding area are so beautiful. I have been blessed with idyllic weather and the city is in bloom and turning more green with every blink of my eyes!
I am already worried this trip is going to feel like a perpetual process of saying goodbye and wishing I had more time to explore and connect. My lesson may be that it is ok to leave wanting more as all good memories have this in common.
I will treasure the memories I have created with Xavier; walking him to school, reading with him in class and going on walks exploring the area around their home.
It feels like yesterday we would spend our days exploring the Legislature Building and now he is 7! Time goes too quickly!!
I have also savoured my time connecting with friends and catching up on each other’s lives as we walk down Dallas Road and Clover Point. Their encouragement has me pumped about this endeavour ❤️
My vision for this trip is already being adjusted. My backpack is weighed down with books of possible walks and hikes but they seem unnecessary as I will find convenient walks when I get to a new destination. This trip isn’t about planning it is about indulging in the moment and connecting with people.
I have one more day here, and I can choose only one more place to explore so I am heading to Island View and meeting my nephew ❤️❤️
