First 20 Wishes
Wondering from fountain to fountain in the sun at Wesbrook Village on the UBC grounds my mind starts to swirl as I push myself to find 20 wishes. It is much easier to find the next fountain than think of another wish. Funny as most sentences I have with people start with "I wish....". Giving myself the time to ponder while I walked my wishes not only showed me where I want to go but where I am right now.
I welcome you to join me on this challenge "20 Wishes". It is a month long and you can do all the wishes in one day like I just did or one fountain at a time for 20 days in a month. The challenge is yours, you just need to post a photo on the 20 wishes page and you can decide whether you want to put your wish with it or not.
1) I wish I could be everything that everyone wants me to be for them but I can't so for today I wish that I can accept and love myself just as I am and be completely myself.
2) I wish everyone I loved could live forever but that is impossible so I wish that I can embrace and love life fully after loss.
3) I wish all relationships lasted forever but they can't so I wish that I can accept that we all are on different paths at different times and let people go with love.
4) I wish that I had the energy I did when I was 16 years old but I don't so I wish that I will enjoy and take care of my body every day.
5) I wish that I had 100's of people participating with me in my challenges and maybe I will in the future but right now I cherish the few people that decided to do this with me.
6) I wish that I was living on a sailboat but I don't right now so I will cherish the adorable little place I live right currently.
7) I wish that I had an abundance of money but right now I don't so I will use each penny I have in the smartest way.
8) I wish I was travelling on the Machu Picchu Trail but I am not so I will continue to take the steps in that direction.
9) I wish I had a pair of Bluntstones so I will put money aside to buy them.
10) I wish I could give my daughter and grandson everything under the sun but I can't so I will love them and enjoy the experiences and memories we have together.
11) I wish my nieces and nephew's were always safe and made good decisions but they are in charge of their own lives so I will love them as they are and not worry.
12) I wish I didn't need to sleep but I do so I wish that I get good sound sleeps waking full of energy.
13) I wish everyone would take care of the environment but I can't control other people so I can do my part by using transit, reducing the packaging I get, reuse things instead of throwing them away and when I do get rid of it I will do it responsibly by recycling.
14) I wish the people in my life would know what I need and do it. That is impossible as they don't have telepathy so I will communicate my needs as much as possible.
15) I wish I could meditate and relax my mind, I know this is a learning process so I will be patient with myself and take time to mediate even though I am not great at it right now.
16) I wish I had a nice round bum instead of the flat one I have. I know this is possible if I were to work out so I will start a workout routine to get my tush in shape.
17) I wish I had more time to do the things I wanted to do but I can't make there be more hours in a day so I will use my time to the best of my ability.
18) I wish I could be going to school and filling my brain with more knowledge but right now I do not have the time so I will use my library card and internet to learn everyday.
19) I wish people would be honest and sincere but I can not control other people so I will be as honest and sincere as I can despite other people.
20) and of course I wish for world peace but I am not that powerful so I will live as peacefully as I can in my own neighbourhood.
I thoroughly enjoyed the fountains at Wesbrook Village and loved them even more when I learned the whole water system isn't just for aesthetics but also utilitarian.
